This week Apple is holding their annual World Wide Developers Conference. Lucky me, I’ll be attending Thursday courtesy of one of my coworkers, Will, free of charge. Kinda makes me want a new MBP. Somebody should tell the Apple Store to fix their tech specs page…

It’s halloween and my office is having a costume competition. Since we’re an engineering office, I decided to be something people could relate to. A C++ program! That’s right, full of patches, threads, and a memory leak.
So I’m sitting here minding my own business debugging new MyStuff code when I start getting exceptions thrown in the image saving feature. I break open the debugger and trace it to one of the links on my home page (which I use to debug with) and find that I’m getting 403’s on one of the images. (Now, since I stupidly stayed up until like 3am Sunday night playing Fallout (of all things) with Judy, I’m lacking somewhat in the objective judgement department.) The URL points to an image linking to Tatsuya Ishida’s Sinfest comic strip. Now, unbeknownst to me, Mr. Ishida has been secretly plotting to change up his web site for the sole purpose of ruining my Monday morning bug testing. So, when I see “http://sinfest.net/sinfestlink3.gif” in my console pointing to a 403 when I can obviously see that it was there not 10 seconds ago I recklessly and immediately assume that there is a bug in the URL handler because the exception spits out “http://www.sinfest.net/sinfestlink3.gif”. Chaos ensues as I spiral into a bug-tracking death-spin of non-existant buggy death. Damn you Ishida! Daaaaaaaaaaaaamn YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *ahem*

It looks like Tatsuya finally got around to redesigning his website (and starting his own publishing co?). *grtz*. May he finally get back to producing his awesome comics.

How many software engineers does it take to change a tire? Apparently only 2, but we had 7…
We decided to go to Marina for lunch today. So, we all piled into Peter’s Honda Pilot. Near the Saratoga exit on 85 we must have run over something because the right rear tire went flat, making a *wog wog wog wog* noise. In the end, it was Bill who did most of the tire changing. Peter claimed he didn’t know how. I helped a little, when I wasn’t taking pictures.
