Willy Wonka

Image001.jpgI went to go see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory with Andrew at the Oakridge 20. Excellent movie. Performances were solid, visual effects were beautiful, story and plot were cohesive. Even while it had a lot of musical numbers in it, I didn’t even notice or mind as the story telling was so well done. When comparing to the Wilder Movie, it can be said that the FX make Burton’s movie much more psychedelic. However, because of Burton’s focus and attention on the characters and story, the new movie is much less psycho-tropic (that’s a good thing). I also liked how all the bad parents and children got their kick in the ass. I think parents across america should go see this movie, if they see themselves or their kids portrayed on screen they should duly kick themselves in the ass.

5 stars for C&tCF

Burton and Depp hit a home run.

Stupidest Idea Ever!

Wednesday, July 13th, 2005

Sam & Adam over at Cinecast read my Translator Theater suggestion on the podcast. While I think it was good fun, aparently a lot of people thought it was stupidest idea ever™. This is what happens when I send podcast feedback at 1am on a weekday. Anyhow, I wasted a good amount of time (not)figuring out the answer. So, it can’t be completely devoid of merit, can it?

CCS blog says back to the old Massacre Theater come Monday. None lost; Trying new things is part of the fun right?
