Chelokababi

To celebrate the 1.2 launch Sam from marketing treated us to lunch at Chelokababi. Mahmoud suggested this persian place. He says it’s been around since 1979. Over all, the experience was quite nice. The Soltani was pretty good, the basmati rice was excellent. Even the wine was ok. Probably the most outstanding part of the place was the decor. We ate in the back banquet room. For the prices of the meals, the furnishings and design of the place was just gorgeous. The restroom was the finest public restroom I have ever seen. Ever. As my first experience at a Persian restaurant, I must admit I was impressed. Good times.

Pasta Pomodoro

Wednesday, July 27th, 2005

Image003.jpgMy mom treated me to Pasta Pomodoro this evening. I had their Spaghetti alla Chittara. Apparently Thundercats make good spaghetti noodles. The sauce on the other hand was only so-so. Still a pretty good value.

Lunch at Krung Thai

Image003.jpg Today we split into two groups again, my half going to one of our stand-bys Krung Thai. I had the Panang Fish Curry. Pretty mild and unexciting yet still satisfying.

Pick Up Stix

Friday, July 15th, 2005

Image002.jpgWent to Pick Up Stix on Blossom Hill and Santa Teresa. Chinese semi-fast food. Pretty good food, even if it was heavily americanized. Andrew had $10 off coupons so we got 3 entreés. House Special Chicken (A-); Sichuan Beef (B+); Garlic Beef (B-). A nice restaurant experience over all, except that the plastic plates were ridiculously small, not ideal for sharing entreés. The food, with 3 entreés, was overly abundant and Andrew and I each got to take some home. Rather expensive though, after the $10 off and 1/2 off the eggrolls, the total still came to $20 split two ways.

Lunch at Sonoma Chicken

Friday, July 15th, 2005

Image004.jpg Half of the office went to chinese food; the half that I went with went to Sonoma Chicken Coop in Campbell. Their Garlic Chicken Alfredo was disappointing. While it was light and decent flavorwise, it really wasn’t your classic Alfredo sauce. The linguine didn’t really play well in the sauce and the chicken was dry. Good garnish though.

Image005.jpgMy recommendation for Sonoma Chicken is still the quarter-chicken in lemon vinigarette. Better value and more satisfying and flavorful.
