VA Tech bans legal handguns, maniac slaughters 30+
Monday, April 16th, 2007I’m sure you know about the tragedy at Virginia Tech that happened today.
I am angry that this happened. I am more angry that, just last year, the Virgina State General Assembly rejected a bill that would allow certified concealed weapon holders to carry their handguns on campus. While I agree that handgun access should be strictly controlled, I see no reason to deny law-abiding citizens their right to carry. Had there been anybody armed, trained, and morally sound there today, maybe so many might not have died at VA Tech.
At some point, you’ve got to trust people to do the right thing. In this country however, it seems increasingly evident that we can’t. If you can’t trust anyone, you’ll never see the guy you shouldn’t trust coming.
