I’m liking where this website’s going. I wish I had more to say more often, but we’re definitely on the right track. Once our next project is official and underway, I’m sure there’ll be more activity with production updates and whatnot. The next thing that’ll probably get added to the Works pages will be the screenplays. We’re talking about how to format them, and I’m also thinking about whether to use transcripts of the finished products or to post the actual screenplays with lines and sometimes whole scenes we didn’t use. I’m guessing we’ll do transcripts with additional pages for “lost scenes”. Nescaflowné and ReDeath in particular have quite a few written scenes that were left out.

Speaking of the next project, figured it wouldn’t hurt to mention that I’m currently busy on a first draft. I’m still not going to say what it is just yet, as revealing ECCH too early might’ve jinxed it. Just to be safe, we ain’t sayin’ nothin’ ’til we’re ready to cast.

Lunch at Krung Thai

Image003.jpg Today we split into two groups again, my half going to one of our stand-bys Krung Thai. I had the Panang Fish Curry. Pretty mild and unexciting yet still satisfying.

Interviews Interviews

Thursday, July 21st, 2005

So, lately there’s been a lot of interviews around my office. Most of them stemming from the the various aquisitions/mergers and the shuffle that came with. Mark’s team is interviewing this one guy right now. He seems pretty hard up for the job; he came in wearing a bold black suit. Not really sure what his mindset is coming in like that, especially for an engineering position for a group that designs a blog portal. My guess is he’s probably fresh out of college. Anyhow, right now Garret sat him down at the hotel workstation and is having him code up an ls command as a test of his unix savy. Seems kind of cruel. Cruel and comical. The poor guy is sitting there in his nice black suit, which is buckling under the stress of being put on the spot. He doesn’t look too comfortable.

From what I can tell though, Garret (and Paul who left Mark’s team not too long ago) seems to enjoy destroying the interviewees with technical questions. And while I think his questions are not unfair, they do seem meticulously specific. In the past at times when the interview went south, though, it sounded like Garret and Paul resorted to torturing candidates who were clearly out of their medium. I think I’m still undecided whether it’s funny or not; it probably won’t be long before I’m either going to or giving job interviews.

Turning Grey

Saturday, July 16th, 2005

My hair turning from black to white seems to be accelerating. I found one hair that had recently turned white; it was kind of interesting. The end of the hair was dark brown and it rapidly faded to polar bear white. The follicle was completely clear. Right now I’d say there are about 12 or so hairs on my head that are completely white. Though, you can’t really tell without looking really close. Most of them are towards the front of my head. I figure it’ll be about 4 more years before I’m at 50% white hair. At some point I’ll probably start dying my hair all white. I suppose I’ll probably look a bit like Kakashi. My hope is that my hair will eventually go 100% white, at which point I won’t have to dye it to even it out. At least I’m not losing my hair.

Pick Up Stix

Friday, July 15th, 2005

Image002.jpgWent to Pick Up Stix on Blossom Hill and Santa Teresa. Chinese semi-fast food. Pretty good food, even if it was heavily americanized. Andrew had $10 off coupons so we got 3 entreés. House Special Chicken (A-); Sichuan Beef (B+); Garlic Beef (B-). A nice restaurant experience over all, except that the plastic plates were ridiculously small, not ideal for sharing entreés. The food, with 3 entreés, was overly abundant and Andrew and I each got to take some home. Rather expensive though, after the $10 off and 1/2 off the eggrolls, the total still came to $20 split two ways.
